This £3.8M refurbishment contract included the complete removal of the existing envelope which was replaced with a combination of glazed curtain walling and a system of insulated acrylic render. The lower 2 floors were extensively remodelled and re-clad in polished granite and the entrance marked by a 15m glazed canopy.

Much of the external work was carried out over winter months and, as the building overhangs the adjacent main railway line, work on the northern elevation was carried out overnight during limited track closures. The building remained 50% occupied for the full contract period.
